Some people enter your life when they’re young and, over time, become more than friends — they become family. Courtney Allen was one of those rare souls. From the earliest sleepovers at my house to pool parties, cookouts, late-night talks, and all the little everyday moments in between, she grew up side by side with my daughter, Briannah. Before long, Courtney became like another daughter to me, woven into the fabric of our lives in a way that felt natural and meant to be.
I had the privilege of watching her blossom from a sweet, bright-eyed little girl into a beautiful young woman and a devoted mother. When she welcomed her son, Sebastian, into the world, Briannah stood right beside her—so close that she was the one who cut the umbilical cord. That moment said everything about their bond. Their friendship was deep, genuine, and lifelong, and our families were forever connected because of it.
Losing Courtney has left our hearts heavy and aching. Her absence is felt in the quiet moments, in the memories that surface without warning, and in the spaces she once filled with her warmth. Yet remembering her also brings light. She blessed our home with laughter, love, and a spirit that always made things brighter. Those memories remind us of how lucky we were to have her. Rest in peace, sweet Courtney.
You will always be loved, always remembered, and forever cherished as part of our family.
